In other news, I had kick-ass Indian food last night at Surya in the WV. Tasty stuff. I wasn’t super-keen on the crab cakes, but, I mean, it is, after all, an Indian restaurant. The jumbo shrimp were amazing, though.
Had to cancel lunch with DC today since I didn’t make it to campus until 12:30 this afternoon and needed time to review for my patent law class. I spent a good hour or so this morning tinkering with my desktop at home trying to finish a clean installation of ZoneAlarm since it’s been disabled for a few weeks and I keep getting all sorts of pop-ups and annoying web detritus thrown in my face every time I hop online.
I’ll be petitioning to withdraw from the writing component of my seminar this afternoon or tomorrow. Meaning I’ll have a research paper as well as the MPRE to concern myself with next semester.
I got an email yesterday from a guy in the class behind mind letting me know he’d gotten an offer from the firm and asking if he could pick my brain. He’s a really bright guy and I hope I can talk him into taking it, though admittedly I don’t know much about the other firm he’s considering. I missed his call this morning and I’ll hopefully be able to touch base with him this afternoon.
I’ve only had my “new” cell phone for three months and the pin connection for the charger’s already starting to crap out. I plugged it in this morning before I took a shower only to find upon my return that the wire had moved ever-so-slightly and I was getting an “Unable to Charge” error. If you try to call me this afternoon and get kicked straight to voicemail it’s because my phone’s dead.
I like how the new ABA cards have your Starwood Preferred and Avis membership numbers imprinted on them. That’s handy. It would be nice if the airlines could come up with some sort of universal frequent flier card that would store data from multiple accounts, but I suppose they really don’t have any incentive to do so, do they? I have a few hundred thousand miles banked right now between Alaska, Southwest, Northwest, US Air, Continental, and American, but I can never seem to find the right card when I’m at the airport.
Finally, I finished clearing out the randos I’d ended up with on my “friends” page. I missed some friend-collecting single mom from the middle of nowhere in NC and some band in Alabama I’d never heard of called, like, “Raping Grandpa” or something retarded. Good riddance. The rest of you can stay.
OK. Off to read for a bit.
